floatingthreads.jpg

Floating thread, 200mm

This is only a single Free thread that is placed in the tissue by a sharp spinal cannula. Used for light lifts and revitalisation of the skin in younger people.

The thread is bi-directional. That means that the cogs/barbs are directed towards each other towards a middle area of the thread that has no barbs/cogs. This area is about 1-2 cm. This way, the thread is not able to migrate in the tissue.

Nordyx PLACL Mono threads

in cannulas 25G-30G

The Mono threads are without any cogs and come in cannula-sizes of 25G up to 30G, and they are sharp cannulas. 30G cannula is also available in R-cannula (blunt cannula) for the delicate areas, like under the eyes. The MONO threads has a purpose of giving definition and revitalization to a chosen area. They can also be used for lip augmentation or lip definition. These threads can be a substitute for fillers in many cases and are very safe and easy to place in the tissue. They stay in the tissue for about 1 year before they are resorbed, and the results last often up to 2 years.

They can also be placed in a mesh-like pattern - just under the dermal layer of the skin - in the area that either has depressed appearance and/or has wrinkles, or where there is a need for definition or tensile skin strength to a certain area.

These threads can be used in the eye area, and also in the Tear through-area. Then, most often, the 29G or 30G cannulas are used.

Materials that we use

Nordyx threads are made of PLACL - that is the best material that stays the longest time in the to obtain maximum results. PLACL is a combination of PCL (Polycaprolacton) and PLLA (Polylactic-acid).

Nordyx threads are CE-registered since May 2019, and is a Norwegian trademark owned by Amedica AS.

The threads have unique and strong cogs which attaches very easily to the tissue and gives a strong hold.

The threads are produced of the best PLACL raw material.

Nordyx have threads that are unique only to the Nordyx brand.

Different types of threads on the market:

PDO –  The most common material. Stays 3-6 months in the tissue, depending on Gauge.

PLLA –  Poly lactic L-acid. This is the material that can stay up until 2 years in the tissue. But the thread is fragile and breaks easily.

PCL  –  Polycaprolactone. A softer thread that also stays longer in the tissue compared to PDO, but it is soft and not thermostable.

PLACL - A combination of PLLA and PCL which gives a strong and flexible thread, and is today the best material on the market. Only a few producers have obtained  CE, and therefore is PDO the thread that is still most common. PLACL threads stay from 12-18 months in the tissue – depending on the gauge, and is the thread and material that gives the best lift and the best tissue stimulation.

Nordyx cannulas.jpg

Cannulas:

The threads are placed in the tissue by inserting a cannula that already has the thread inside the cannula.
The  thread leaves the cannula when the cannula is being removed from the tissue.

Lenths of cannulas: 25mm to 110mm

Lengths of the threads: 50mm to 185mm

Cannulas are made of the highest quality steel.

Dr. Ragni Elisabeth Funner

Vision for the feature

Dr. Ragni Elisabeth Funner (Dentist) has 20 years of experience from aesthetic treatments such as filler injections, mesotherapy, thread lifts, and PRP treatments. She has also been giving lectures for 10 years.

She graduated as a Dentist from Oslo University in 1988 as one of the best in her class. Dentists have extensive knowledge of facial anatomy and facial structures, since this is the field they are operating in, so it was very easy for Ragni to start doing esthetic treatments in 1998 when she was one of the first in Scandinavia to be trained in fillers. Dentists are used to working with their hands in the face, used to needles and injections, and are very much into the esthetic side of the face, lips, and mouth.

She’s has been Amedicaś certified expert trainer for Scandinavia and the UK. Ragni has been working with esthetic dentistry and esthetic medicine in her own practice in Norway for more than 20 years. Five years ago she sold her dental practice to become a full-time trainer for Amedica in aesthetic treatments, with a focus on injectables, PRP and thread lift for nurses, doctors, and surgeons.

She has developed advanced techniques with the different thread brands she worked with over the years but came to see that with few adjustments on the threads and techniques, she could make the treatments she was offering her clients better and results lasting longer. So today she is working with new and improved threads she has formulated together with a well-reputed production company.

Sought after for her expert opinion, Dr. Ragni Funner has featured in the press in Scandinavia, and she has held many lectures for Amedica in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and the UK for nurses, dentists, doctors, and plastic surgeons.

Long lasting results without surgery.
