The difference between the two thread materials used today

PDO is the most common material on the market. PDO is a safe material to use, but it has its limitations. It is soft and dissolves in a humid environment after 3-6 months - depending on the thickness of the thread. The hooks are the ones that disappear first, as they have the thinnest diameter. The hooks are also quite soft, so they cannot lift too heavy skin.

PLACL is a much stronger material and is somewhat stiffer, but still easy to put in the tissue and it is very biocompatible. It dissolves much more slowly in a humid environment compared to PDO, and stays in the tissue for from 12-18 months.

Studies have shown that the threads, and the irritation they cause in the tissue, must be present for at least 9 months to give a good result and to give a revitalization of the tissue that lasts for a few years. The lifting results and revitalization that occurs from PDO in the tissue, lasts from 1-2 years, PLACL material will give a result that lasts from 2-5 years.

We choose to mostly work with Nordyx threads in PLACL, as we know that we will then get the very best result in the long run, and the most satisfied customers.
